I came from Gujrat, India about 30 years ago where I had very limited exposure to cooking. My husband has always been a foodie and a big motivator. He would take me to lovely restaurants and from here is where my journey began. I would be amazed to taste wider variety of cuisines that it encouraged me to try make the same at home. For me, cooking is a means to express my love since it gives me an opportunity to nurture my family and friends. When I started to get the hang of it, I was thoroughly satisfied. Hearing compliments like “this is amazing” or “how did you make that, it’s delicious” has been a huge motivator enabling me to keep spending time in the kitchen when I was learning to cook. And still is. Through these years, I’ve come to realize that the most important factor for healthy eating is to avoid processed food and focus on using real ingredients. Therefore, I’d experiment and make new dishes with my own combinations. I enjoy spending time in the kitchen preparing dinner since it puts me in a much calmer mood than sitting on the couch for the same amount of time. Thereafter, I thought to take my new hobby, to a different level, so that I could not only be independent but also share my style of cooking, is how I got involved with the catering industry.
I love that cooking gives me a chance to lose myself in the rituals of chopping, stirring and tasting and to most importantly be creative. It’s like an endless adventure where I still learn from it everyday.
